Rising high school Juniors and Seniors with at least a 3.4 GPA may submit an application beginning February 14th when the application becomes available and no later than April 4th. The application includes an essay and recommendation forms from a high school counselor and another adult who knows the applicant well. Applicants are notified in late April. Submission of an application does not guarantee participation in this exciting, competitive program.

The application does require you to upload a recommendation letter from a school counselor and another adult such as a teacher or employer. Make sure you speak with these people in advance to ensure you are ready to apply. Remember that spring break will fall before the final application acceptance date. The form for these recommendations can be downloaded from application.
To help you get started we will be publishing this year's essay question in advance so you can begin planning and writing. The essay question and references are major components of how we evaluate applications as we get so much interest from great students. Taking time to carefully craft your essay and following directions can improve your chances of being accepted for the program. Your essay should be between 500-600 words.
