University of Colorado Hospital and Metro Denver Clinics Giving

Handmade Items We Love to Receive

We are grateful for handmade donations that bring comfort and joy to our patients. Thank you for sharing your time and talent with us!

    • Blankets or Quilts
Crocheted, knitted, sewn, or hand-tied blankets are always welcome. We also host a special holiday blanket drive to provide hand-tied blankets to all patients in the hospital.
    • Crocheted Octopus for Premature Babies
Small crocheted octopus toys help comfort our tiniest patients. Patterns, size guidelines, and yarn suggestions can be found online or on YouTube.
    • Soft Hats for Cancer and Chemotherapy Patients
Soft, gentle hats made by sewing or knitting help keep patients warm and comfortable during treatment.
    • Newborn Hats
Knitted or crocheted hats for newborns are always appreciated. Holiday-themed hats are especially fun. We do not need preemie hats at this time.
    • Pillowcases
Bright, fun, and cheerful sewn pillowcases help brighten the rooms of our long-term patients.
    • Breast Prosthetics
Knitted or crocheted breast prosthetics provide comfort and support for patients after surgery.
    • Handmade Cards
Beautiful handmade cards with a blank inside allow our staff to write personal messages to patients, adding a special touch of care.
