Therapy Tails Volunteer Application and Placement Process

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at UCHealth at University of Colorado Hospital with your Therapy Dog . Therapy Dogs and their handlers play an important and meaningful role in providing amazing service to patients and their loved ones. We hope you find your experience here to be valuable and worthwhile.

You will need to complete the following items before we can schedule and interview for both of you.
- Online Application for the dog and the Adult Volunteer Application for the Handler (a separate application process)
- Upload:
    Therapy Dog Certification from either Therapy Dogs Internation, Pet Partners, or Alliance Therapy Dogs
     Rabies Shot Information
     Current Health Certificate with vacination list from veterinarian

elow please find the volunteer onboarding process. 
1. Complete the online application  before submitting
2. Upload 3 forms 
3. Complete Handler application with training (see separate online application under Therapy Tails).
4. Schedule interview (bring the dog)
5. Complete  2-3 shadow visits with an experienced Therapy Tails team.
